Ooty...from my lens..

The botanical garden, the man-made lake and Dodda Betta aren't the only places to visit in Ooty. There's a place called 'Kunoor (Coonoor)' which is 20 km from Ooty. It is easily accessible through    train (which we missed). This coal-powered train (the one featured in the movie 'Parineeta') will take an hour or more to take you to Kunoor. 5 km from Kunoor, on the way to "Dolphin's Nose" view point, is this beautiful landscape. An awesome chemistry of the lush-green tea plantations and the mist leaves you spellbound!

Me and my gang named 'Mavericks'.

We found this place 5 km away from Kunoor, which is 20 km from Ooty.
We were in heaven for sure!

'Lamb's Rock', a view-point which is 7 km away from Kunoor.
The time was 12 noon when this picture was taken!

At Doddabetta Hill. Speaciality of this picture is that it has been clicked in the 'Twilight' mode of    Sony Cyber Shot. Hence, the trees appear dark, highlighting the light-colored clouds.

Best time to visit Ooty is during the beginning of monsoons. The months of July and August are ideal. Its not necessary to mention that Ooty is Honey-mooner's paradise. But, touring this part of the world with friends is even more fun.

This little piece of heaven will flash in my mind for a long long time.

Himavad GopalSwamy Hill

A view from the Himavad GopalSwamy Hill, near Mysore. An 'Unsung Hero' among the very popular hill stations of Karnataka.

Positioned amidst the Bandipur National Park, Himavad GopalSwamy Hill offers a 360 degree view of lush-green paradise. The fog adding to this beauty, provides a breath-taking view.

Himavad GopalSwamy Hill is 75 km away from Mysore. A 10 km ride from Gundlupet which is 65 km from Mysore, on the Mysore-Ooty road.
